I make it happen

My goal when it comes to planning is always to know what to spend my time on. If I have to ask what I should be working on, I’m one click away from a lost afternoon.

And that’s not how I move my business forward.

A great year starts with a great plan.

What are my goals for the year?
What do those goals need from me?
How does my marketing need to prepare?
Which skills gaps do I need to fill?

Trying to answer those questions from a belly full of champagne and Christmas pudding or when I’m back at my desk and the year has begun has never really worked for me.

And I struggle to plan at home.

If I want to disrupt my usual flow, challenge my way of thinking and be open to new and different ideas, I need to change my space.

I’ve dreamed of going somewhere quiet and luxurious for some deep thinking zones. And so I booked it!

Charming Penngrove Retreat Home

This gorgeous 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom property in Penngrove, California sits on a half acre of beautiful landscaping, seasonal vegetable garden, hot tub, bbq and outdoor entertaining areas.

The interior of the house and garden has plenty of nooks and crannies for solitude.

Close to the towns of Penngrove, Cotati and Petaluma, this gorgeous area will be a delight to be in.

What we'll be doing

Vision board creation

I’ve never created one but I love the idea of sitting down with some pictures and a glue stick.

Annual goal setting

We’ll look at revenue, time and client goals for the year and what that means for each 90-day quarter.

Goals into plans and actions

We’ll break out goals into actions and do a gap analysis on where we need more support.

Scheduling across the year

We’ll look at when we need to take action, especially what else is happening that we may need to plan around. I’m looking at you, school holidays.

Napping, chilling, hanging out

Plenty of time to be alone or hang out with the group.

As this is the first time I’ve invited others to join me on this kind of adventure, I’ve tried to include the basics with additional expenses in your control (so you can decide how much you spend).

What else do I have to pay for?

My goal has been to keep this 1) easy and 2) low-cost, much like a bunch of friends meeting up for a holiday.

We’ll eat out for lunch and dinner. You will also have to cover any travel costs getting to the venue.

When you register, I’ll ask you what you like for breakfast, snacks and drinks but if you’d like different things, more things or alcohol, you will have to purchase that yourself. I’m happy to do a grocery shop run!

You also have to cover flights and travel to the house.

What’s the closest airport?

San Francisco – SFO.

How do I get from the airport to the house?

TaxiFareFinder suggests about $167 from SFO to Penngrove, which could be shared if the flight arrival times align.

Airport Express bus is $42 and drops you off at the Petaluma Fairgrounds — and I can pick you up.

Travel time from SFO to the Penngrove is approx 1.5 hours.
